my husband teases me for making granola. he may laugh but secretly he admires my domesticity. but here is a recipe/photo of some really great granola i make. i love eating it over raspberry yogurt and a banana. mmm mmm good!
GRANOLA
2.5 cups rolled oats (i used quick cooking but old fashioned would be fine)
0.5 cups pecan pieces
0.5 cups sweetened coconut flakes
0.5 cups dry roasted sunflower seeds
0.5 cups slivered almonds
0.25 cups toasted wheat germ
1 tsp cinnamon
0.25 tsp nutmeg
a couple dashes ground cloves
4 TBS butter
1/3 cups brown sugar
2 TBS creamy peanut butter
1/4 cups honey
1 tsp vanilla
GRANOLA

- preheat oven to 325
- mix all the dry ingredients {oats, coconut, sunflower seeds, almonds, pecans, wheat germ, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves} in a large bowl
- melt the remaining ingredients except vanilla in a small saucepan until creamy and smooth {don't let it boil}
- remove sauce from heat and add vanilla
- pour sauce over dry ingredients and stir until coated
- spread evenly onto a cookie sheet
- bake for 30-50 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until you reach your desired crunch
