about a block away from our apartment is a maverik gas station/convenience store. recently my friend jill and i have tried to go running a couple days a week outside. it's been marvelous to have a running buddy...especially here in salt lake where it is the land of ginormous hills! since she lives in the same condo complex as us, we usually will stop at the maverick on our way back and grab a gatorade to cool down with. it's a fabulous way to end a hard run. so one morning we were looking especially sweaty and tired from a good run we headed into maverick to grab our gatorades. we got to the counter and waited for someone to come ring us out {keep in mind it is before 7 in the morning}. all of the sudden this tall lady with wirey red hair comes out of nowhere and says, "you guys are out burning calories runnin instead of having sex huh?" jill and i looked at each other in shock--did she really just say that? do we know you? seriously. i have never been asked a question that was so out of left field from a complete stranger in my life. jill and i laughed our heads of the second we got out of the store and the whole block home. just another testament to how different slc is from good ole' p-town. gotta love it.
